The public will VOTE between October 15 and 28 by placing a canned good in the basket in front of their favorite pumpkin. All canned goods will be given to the Plainville Food Pantry. The winner with the most canned goods will win a prize from the Friends of the Library. Pumpkins will be ready to go home for the holiday with thier creator on October 29. http://www.plainvillepubliclibrary.org/pumpkin.html ![]() Our next project on Wednesday, November 13 at 7pm will be this Poinsettia Pillow (20x20) on a white pillow (including pillow insert) with jingle bell center. Our project will be mostly no sew as we will be using fabric glue for the petals and all you need to do is sew on the jingle bells. The Materials cost for this will be $12.00 and will be collected that evening. Registration will open October 9 and you must register by November 7 to ensure I have the materials for you. ![]() Just a few days left to enter your pumpkin into our contest. All votes (canned goods) go to the Plainville Food Pantry and the winning pumpkin gets a $20 gift card to Dunkin from the Friends of the Plainville Public Library, Inc. Homer was last year's winner. Drop off your pumpkin by 2pm on Saturday October 12. Please do not cut real pumpkins. using fake pumpkins is OK, too. You can now shred your confidential documents at the library for free!
The Plainville Public Library now has a locked container for collecting confidential documents. All you have to do is drop the documents you would like to be shredded into the secure containers, and we take care of the rest! We ask that you bring 1 bag or box of papers at a time to allow everyone access to this service as the box is only picked up once a month. Thank you.
