Come explore a new art medium or style each day inspried by famous children's books illustrators. Drop in art activity.  School vacation week: April 18-21: Tuesday 11-5pm, Wednesday 11-5pm, Thursday 11-1pm and Friday 1-4pm. Some of our art activities might even be outside depending on the weather!

Preserve your Plainville Memories for all!

Monday, April 24 from 4-7pm - It's a Party! Bring us up to 10 pictures of your Plainville Memories. It can be buildings, homes, parties, sporting and school events. And Yes, we want your life from the 70's and 80's too! You sign a permissions form and we scan your photos to add to the Plainville Digital History page and the Plainville Historical Commission keeps a copy. Your memories will be shared for all to enjoy for years to come.  If you want digital copies please bring a flash drive with you.

Southwick Zoo Tickets are back!

Discounted admission tickets are now available to purchase for just $15 each.  Regular admission is $25 for adults and $20 for children.  under age 2 is free. You may book your tickets in advance on our Musuem Pass Reservation system. Each FAMILY is allowed 1 booking per season which allows you to purchase up to 4 discounted tickets to allow the most number of families to go. Thank you for understanding. Tickets may be paid for in cash or by credit card only. Purchases with credit cards are charged to your library account and payment is made online for a 50 cent transaction fee when you pick up the tickets.

New Pass to Heritage Museum & Gardens

Enjoy beautiful gardens and great exhibits of art and classic cars. Our pass admits 2 adults and up to 4 children for half price. Regular Admission is $18 for ages 12 and up and $8 for ages 3-11. Ages 2 and under are free. 
Heritage Museums & Gardens is the largest public garden in Southern New England. It is located on 100 acres of magnificent grounds and trails on the banks of Shawme Pond in Historic Sandwich. Heritage is especially famous for the Dexter Rhododendrons as well as an encyclopedic collections of daylilies, hostas and hydrangeas. Heritage also holds a nationally-significant collection of specialty gardens, water features and sculpture.
Hidden Hollow, a family-friendly outdoor discovery area, is a place for exploration of the outdoors and our place in it. Heritage offers three gallery buildings housing permanent exhibits of world-class automobiles, a working vintage carousel, American folk art, and featured special exhibitions. Our beautiful therapy dog, Neptune, will be here Wednesday April 5 at 4pm to listen unconditionally while you read. Reading aloud to dogs helps struggling readers become more confident. So pick a good story and come on by. 

Drop off healthy food for YMCA Drive

The Plainville Public Library is happy to be a drop off point for the Hockomock YMCA Healthy Food Drive during the month of APRIL.

So drop off your donations of healthy food for your neighbors. They are looking for beans and proteins, brown rice, fruit, vegetables, granola, health bars, nuts, gluten free and other non-perishable healthy foods.  All of your donations will go to help people in the Hockomock towns.
