Bring in a pumpkin to be entered into our annual Decorating Contest to benefit the Plainville Food Pantry by October 12. Adults, teens and kids are welcome to participate. Please do not cut your pumpkin. Using fake pumkins is totally OK, too! Get some ideas on our Pinterest Page VOTE for your FAVORITE! The public will VOTE between October 15 and 28 by placing a canned good in the basket in front of their favorite pumpkin. All canned goods will be given to the Plainville Food Pantry. The winner with the most canned goods will win a $20 Dunkin Gift Card from the Friends of the Library. Pumpkins will be ready to go home for the holiday with thier creator on October 29. Well, they never actually stopped, but we are back to 4 storytimes a week. All are drop in, so come when you can. Preschool age is on Mondays at 10:30am and Tuesdays at 1:30pm. Infant and Toddler is on Mondays at 1:30pm and Tuesdays at 10:30am. Miss Laura would love to see you!

We will have different literacy building games available in a variety of reading ability levels - games like Boggle Jr., compound word puzzles, Silly Sentences, and Scrabble Jr. to name a few. This is a drop in activity and is open for pre-readers to advanced readers and you should be able to find a game to engage or challenge everyone!

Wednesday, September 11 at 6:00pm. Drop in the library and learn a kid friendly card games. We will use standard, regular cards - no special decks required - and no notepad needed to keep score. We will play games like: Old Maid, Snap, Crazy Eights, Slapjack, and Garbage, to name a few. This is a great way to learn new games and ways to keep kids busy and entertained and the only thing you need is a standard deck of cards!
