![]() Can you walk the Community Solar System? Will you leave a positive note in a library book? Read a Mystery? Pick up an Audlt & Teen BINGO sheet and see if you can do everything this summer! The Library is closed on Thursday, July 4th. We are open Friday, July 5th from 1-6pm.
![]() Busy library customers will have one less thing to worry about thanks to the new Auto-Renewal service from the Plainville Public Library and the SAILS Library Network, which goes into effect on July 1 for all checkouts at the Plainville Public Library. As the name suggests, Auto-Renewal is a service which automatically renews library materials that have not been requested by another customer and are eligible for renewal. The SAILS Library Network tracks the status of all materials and knows which can be renewed and which are needed back to share with other customers. “Auto-Renewal will enhance customer convenience by allowing customers to enjoy their materials longer without worry of having to manually check their account or call the library to request a renewal,” says Melissa Campbell, library director, “and they will end up paying fewer fines.” Customers are granted one renewal as long as there are not conditions or holds that prevent the auto-renewal from happening. The new due date is calculated by adding another full loan period to the current due date. This means customers can potentially keep books for a total of 8 weeks, audio items and new books for 4 weeks and DVDs for 2 weeks. Of course, materials can be returned anytime within the check-out period at the library or in our book drops by the library door or in the Wood School parking lot. Customers will receive a notice informing them of the new due dates of any renewed items, and any items that could not be renewed three days prior to their original due dates. Please contact the Plainville Public Library at 508-695-1784 if you have questions on your account. This is what Read & Bead looks like. For ages 5 and up. Each square on your Reading Log equals 15 minutes of reading. Do the math and decide what kind of beads you want for your chain. You can always trade up as you read more this summer.
