Dear Patrons, We are excited to announce a great service that will allow you to easily keep track of everything going on in Plainville! Burbio.com is a FREE website and app that puts school, library and other local events all in one calendar. You can create a personalized event feed and even sync events to your Google or iPhone calendars! You'll also be notified when events change or get cancelled. Sign up at Burbio.com or download the free iPhone or Android App and follow the calendars that interest you. Are you a Community Non-profit Leader?
We are excited to launch a community calendar partnership to improve communication with residents and among organizations in the community. We are working with Burbio.com, a free platform for non-profits and residents that streams library, school, and non-profit event information for communities all in one place. Burbio.com offers a free website, iPhone App and Android App that allow residents to personalize what events they see, add events to their digital calendar, and be notified when things change. All events on Burbio.com appear on Amazon Alexa, and are optimized for Google Search. Burbio currently streams our Library, Town and school events. Now we want to add all our great non-profit organizations. Burbio's free platform reads Facebook event feeds, Google calendar feeds, iCal feeds, or can be manually updated, and provides free collateral and social sharing tools for your group. And the Burbio team is available to assist you with this immediately! If you are interested in participating, please email Beth at btalamas@burbio.com and she will help you and your team get set up. Also, if you can think of anyone in town that I may have missed, please let them know about Burbio! I think it could be a great way to get all of our events listed in one place. The 2018 Plainville Public Library Townwide Scavenger Hunt starts NOW! Remember your music class? FACE and EGBDF? Find these notes around Plainville and turn in your entry by July 16 at 8pm. Bonus if you can name the song the notes play. Good Luck! Entry Form and all photos on our website.
http://www.plainvillepubliclibrary.org/scavengerhunt.html Every Friday from June 29 through August 20 - we'll have a new make and take instrument for you to create and make noise with. By the end of the summer you could even have enough to form a band!
Bring your own pillows and snacks to watch a PG movie in the kid's room on Thursdays at 10:15am. Enjoy the air conditioning! We've tried to pick movies with a musical bent or a good soundtrack to go along with the Libraries Rock Summer Reading Theme.
Starting June 25: Summer Storytimes will be held Mondays at 10:30am for Preschool and Tuesdays at 10:30am for Infants & Toddlers with Miss Laura. There will be no storytimes the week of July 4th
The Annual Teddy Bear Picnic with Cindy Tuminelli will be held at the Telford Park Gazebo at 142 South St. at Noon on Tuesday, June 12. Bring your stuffed friend, lunch, blanket and chairs for a musical picnic with Miss Cindy! Registration for the Libraries Rock! Summer Reading Program starts today. Spsonsored by the Friends of the Plainville Public Library, Inc.
Summer Hours are June 4 through Labor Day.
Monday 10-8pm, Tuesday 10-5pm, Wednesday 10-8pm, Thursday 10-2pm and Friday 1-5pm Closed on Saturdays and Sundays.
