Board games are available first come, first served. You can check out a max of 2 games per family for 2 weeks.

Lawn games are available to reserve for when you want to use them. Borrow for just a day or for up to 14 days. Reserve your desired lawn games or beach tent at our Library of Things

June 14, 12:00 Noon - Teddy Bear Picnic at Telford Park with Miss Cindy Tuminelli. Bring your blankets and chairs, lunch and your favorite stuffed friend for a dancing and singing party. Held at the Gazebo. 

June 26 - Read and Bead Starts - today is the first day you can turn in your reading logs to earn your beads for each 15 minutes you read.

July 6, 6:00pm - Candy Sushi, ages 7-12. For Japanese culture week we're using loads of delicious materials to make colorful edible sushi. Registration is required.

July 12, 10:30am - Cultural Crafting: Indian Bell Totas & Sand Mandalas, ages 7+, registration required
July 12, 6:00pm - Rockabye Beats Family Concert at Telford Park. Funded by the Plainville Cultural Council with funds from the MCC.
July 13, 11:00am - Outdoor Storytime at Telford Park, ages 5+, weather permitting
July 13, 6:30pm - Mosaic Workshop with The Water Lily Designs, ages 7+. For Indian Culture week, decorate a wooden box with mirrors and clay. Registration is required. Funded by the Friends of the Plainville Public Library, Inc.

July 19, 10:00am -  Mass Audubon Nature Storytime with Stony Brook Nature Preschool, ages 3-5.  Interactive read-aloud followed by crafts and nature activities. Held outside the Library, weather permitting. Registration is required.
July 19, 1:00pm - Cultural Crafting: Slavic Nested Paper Dolls, ages 5+, registration required
July 19, 6:00pm -  Night of Slavic Folk Art. Traditional Slavic dance, music and costume with a craft. Held in support of the Ukraine. Funded by the Plainville Cultural Council with funds from the MCC.
July 20, 11:00am - Outdoor Storytime at Telford Park, ages 5+, weather permitting

July 24, 10:00am - Summer Storytime @ the Library, ages 0-5

July 27, 4:00pm - Tie Dye Party, ages 7-12. Using dye and twisting techniques to create a one of a kind tie dye bag. Registration is required. Funded by the Friends of the Plainville Public Library, Inc.

August 2, 1:00pm, Cultural Crafting: Celtic Designs and Suncatchers, ages 5+, registration required
August 2, 6:00pm - Irish Dance with Sullivan Stewart School. all ages. Join us for a night Irish Culture with the dancers from Plainville's own Sullivan Stewart School of Irish Dance.

August 18, 2:00 - 4:00pm - End-of Summer Bubble Party! Drop in to celebrate the end of summer reading. Last chance to turn in your logs for our Read and Bead program and Early Literacy sheets. Prize package winners will be drawn at 4:00pm. We'll have bubbles, chalk, water play, games and ICE CREAM!
