​June 27 - August 19

  • Whose Track is That? Lift the Flap Walk on South St. between the Library and An Unlikely Story. Can you figure out which animal makes that track? Lift the flap for the answer.
  • Library Backyard will be OPEN, weather permitting with bubbles, sand table, water fun and more!
  • Concerts at Telford Park at 6:00pm on June 30, July 12, August 18

Read & Bead is back for our Explorers (ages 6-12)​

  1. Register at the Library starting June 6. 
  2. Get a chain and tag for Read & Bead.
  3. Track your reading minutes on your paper Camp Log and earn beads for your chain.
  4. If you prefer you can use Beanstack to track your reading minutes with the app or website.  You can use either to earn beads and tags all summer long.

Adventurers (age 5 and under)

  1. Register at the Library starting June 6.
  2. Get your early literacy activity sheet.
  3. Complete 20 or more activities and turn it in for a prize. 

Adults & Teens (13+) Summer Scratch Tickets

In Person: Summer Scratch Tickets for Adults & Teens (age 13+). Check out items from the Plainville Public Library and you get 1 scratch ticket per day. Instant winners could win a free book or puzzle from the Friends of the Library regular priced book sale, a tote bag, or an item of your choice from our Treasure Cart of Prizes. Otherwise enter your ticket into our summer long drawing for gift cards from An Unlikely Story and Tasty’s, Free tickets to Treetop Adventures,  or Kindle Fire 7. Lucky winners will be chosen August 19 as part of our end of the Summer Bubble and Popsicle Party. 

AND Online: This summer, read beyond the beaten path with the Beanstack APP! Log the minutes you read to earn badges just for fun. Add book reviews for everyone to see to earn additional badges.  Remember Summer Camp? Earn your Activity Badges by doing those great summer things: cooking, crafts, star gazing and more. It's like adult merit badges.  Anyone registered on Beanstack will be entered into our end of the summer drawing on August 19 for 1 of 6 prizes featuring a Kindle Fire 7 and gift cards from An Unlikely Story and Tasty's and Free tickets to Treetop Adventures.

Logging toward Summer Reading Goals starts June 27. But you can still do it now anyways, just to start a reading streak.

We are using Beanstack this year as our online Summer Reading tracker.  Easy to switch between kids, easy to log, via the app or the web.  Yes, you can use the same account you had last year. Just open the Beastack app on your device and log in. Register for our Summer 2022 programs.

Kids ages 5-12 earn virtual badges for reading and then come to the library to pick up the brag tags that match your earned badges and earn 4 beads per badge for the Read & Bead. 

Adults and Teens can track reading too and earn merit badges for doing summer camp inspired activities. Anyone registered on Beanstack will be entered into our end of the summer drawing on August 19 for 1 of 6 prizes featuring a Kindle Fire 7 and gift cards from An Unlikely Story and Tasty's and Free tickets to Treetop Adventures.

Beanstack BASICS


  1. Go to the Beanstack website or download the app.
  2. Choose Register (or log in using your same account as last year)
  3. Fill in the form, add more children as needed
  4. When you have reading to report, come back to the Beanstack page and sign in (top right corner) using your username and password and log away
  5. OR Download the Beanstack App for easy tracking on your phone or tablet
  6. Kids Earn Key Tags for each hour you read this summer (up to 10 hours)
Toddler and Infant Program (5 and under)
  • Register for 1000 Books Before Kindergarten online, too.
  • Read Together
  • Log Books ​
  • Have FUN!
Children's Program (ages 5-12)
  • Come to the Library to pick up your Key Tag starter once you register online
  • Log Minutes of Reading
  • ​Earn Beads and Tags for Read & Bead that you pick up at the Library.
Adults and Teens (13 and up)
  • Log Minutes of Reading 
  • ​Review books for badges
  • Complete Activity Badges for adult summer camp.
