The Library is closed in honor of Veteran's Day on Wednesday November 11.
We thank you for your service. Registration
The Plainville Library invites families with children 6 and older to register for our Lego Club @ Home. The first 20 families who register will receive a Lego Starter Package containing brand new Legos donated to us by Lego Discoveryland in Boston. Each month we send our Lego Club email containing a building challenge, STEM activity and other cool Lego information. Families are welcome to show everyone their creations by posting on Facebook or Instagram using #plainvillelego and tag the library at @plainvilleMAlib. So come be part of the Lego Club and create at home but share your building online. Registration is on our online calendar for the designated pick up day of December 16. Toys for Tots are now being accepted at the Plainville Public Library through December 10. Please donate new and unwrapped toys for ages baby through teen. All items are given out locally to families in need for the holidays. Thank you!
Do you or your kids like to color, paint or draw? We are soliciting artwork drawn on our special handouts for our new Art Share Because We Care initiative. Turn in your artwork to us and we will send it to a Senior in need of a pick-me-up in Plainville. Many Seniors in this time of COVID are struggling with feeling alone and this is just one way we, as a community, can let them know we are thinking about them. You can even nominate people you know (not just Seniors) who might need an Art Share Because We Care envelope in the mail to brighten their day. Nominations are accepted at the Plainville Public Library circulation desk. Please turn in your artwork on our special handout available online or at the library, or your own paper no bigger than 8 ½ x 11”, so we can fit it in a regular envelope. Sheet to Print at Home
The Plainville Public Library is helping our neighbors with Food for Fines from November 1, 2020 through January 31, 2021. One non-perishable food item will equal the fine on one item. Feel good and pay down your account. All non-perishable food items will be given to the Living Bread Food Pantry here in Plainville for distribution to local families in need. Please make sure items are within date.
