Book Bag Buddies Grade 4 - 5 Fast Facts About Blizzards:

1. The Cleveland Superbomb had 25 feet of snow. It was big and interesting
2. New England Blizzard of 78 dropped 4 feet of snow on Massachusetts.  My grandparents were alive for it
3. Don't travel during a blizzard. It's a true fact and you should listen to it
4.Mice are not hurt by blizzards. I like animals
5.You should drink a lot of water and eat so you don't get hypothermia. It can save your life

1)According to the US National Weather Services, blizzards are snowstorms with whipping wind at the max speed of 35 mph.
I chose this fact because I have experienced a blizzard very recently. There was low visibility, high winds, and heavy snowfall.
2)Blizzards that are formed in the northeast region of the US are named "northeasters."
I chose this fact because I have experienced a "northeaster" before.
3)some blizzards can cause massive flooding near the coastline of a state or country.
I chose this fact because recently, I saw the flooding of cape cod with massive waves that may have looked like a tsunami on the news channel.
4) 1978 was a year that included many blizzards and snowstorms. The biggest one of 1978 was called the superbomb cyclone that tossed heavy snow on the 3 states of Ohio, Michigan, and Indiana.
I chose this fact because it seemed interesting to me.
5)Even though most animals usually survive most blizzards and snowstorms, after blizzards pass, animals who store nuts and other foods for the winter sometimes have trouble finding their food stashes.
Recently, I saw birds that visited our balcony that ate the seeds that I put out for them.
Thank you for the book. And I can relate to the kids in the book because I have experienced a blizzard recently.

Book Bag Buddies - Grade 4 - Civil Rights

I learned that the United Nations declared that all children everywhere have the right to be protected from harm and to participate in the life of their family, culture and society and develop to their fullest. I chose the picture because it had kids in it. I also chose the image of teddy bears being dropped from a plane, called ‘human rights’, per Cromwell-Studio Total/AP. The teddy bears were dropped from a plane in Belarus and each had a statement in support of all human rights. I liked the image because of the teddy bears and wondered what they were doing.

Book Bag Buddies Grade 4 - Haunted Story Prompt:
Here we go again i sighed. looking out the window a the approaching moving van. yet another family moving into a haunted house - my haunted house - to find proof that ghosts are real. for hundreds of years i've scared families off and i haven't been caught on film yet, and this family should be no different. except, hold on, can that little boy see me? he just looked right at me and stared! ahh he screamed and ran out of the room. and now that is over with, ghosts! the door swung open. ghosts? a woman stood at the door way holding a vacuum. i don't think there is a ghost in this house. it's time to go to bed and brush your teeth jimmy. oh, come on said Jimmy. Huh? sounds like he could use a scare, i said. when he was asleep I snuck into his room. on the way there i saw some pretty cool things like the adults were watching a thing called a TV. when I got there he was already asleep. Boo i said then i hid. Huh? he said then he went back to sleep. then I did it again and again, to be honest i did it for the whole night. it was so funny. the next morning jimmy was so tired. i followed him to school and it was so funny watching him faint on his way to art, and i got to see school for the very first time time. i was super excited! it turns out having a family at my haunted house wasn't so bad after all.
Here we go again i sighed. looking out the window a the approaching moving van. yet another family moving into a haunted house - my haunted house - to find proof that ghosts are real. for hundreds of years i've scared families off and i haven't been caught on film yet, and this family should be no different. except, hold on, can that little boy see me? he just looked right at me and stared! what should i do to scare them? i thought to myself. i heard the moving van doors slam shut. BANG! it stinks like someone died in here. well obviously i thought to myself. let's get this party started i said as the family shuffled in the house and put their luggage down and looked around. i moved as fast as i could to move all their luggage out of the house. then the mam said take the luggage in for the last time. that night everybody was fast asleep. in a blink of an eye i thought of an idea to stomp down the stairs. the boy woke up and yelled for his dad. yes i said quietly. the dad told the mom. the boy refused to stay and the dad agreed. another victory i proclaimed.
here we go again i sighed looking out the window at the approaching moving van. yet another family moving into a haunted house - my haunted house - to find proof that ghosts are real. for hundreds of years I've scared families off and haven't been caught on film yet and this family should be no different. except, hold on, can that little boy see me? he just looked right at me and stared! Maybe there were a few special people who could see ghosts like me. I drifted through the front door over to the boy and patted him. my hand didn't go through him. the boy reached up and touched me on my hand. i felt it. this was the first time in many hundreds of years that somebody had made any communication or contact with me. the boy whispered mom. he did not look scared in any way. maybe things would be better if i made friends that were alive family? the father getting out packages looked at me. G-g-ghost he screamed in terror. the mother looked at me. Her eyes went wide. she walked toward me. Are you real she whispered. Yes i replied. the father now more curious than afraid walked over to me as well. the father walked over to the front of the house and said to me can we live here? of course i said back. and from that day, i made friends with any family that moved in to my old mansion.
here we go again i sighed. looking out the window at the approaching moving van. yet another family moving into a haunted house - my haunted house - to find proof that ghosts are real. for hundreds of years i've scared families off and i haven't been caught on film yet, and this family should be no different. except, hold on, can that little boy see me? he just looked right at me and stared! so I ran to the corner and hid. the boy ran to the house. two minutes later the boy and his mom and dad burst in the room. well they saw me and called Ghostbusters. when the Ghostbusters found me i was helping the boy do his homework so I did not get busted and the family did no get scared out and i got to stay.
