This all started with a story of a family that was cleaning out their father's house. He had a lot of pictures and they took the ones they wanted, and didn't know what to do with the rest. We hear they burned them along with all the man's old paperwork. Memories lost forever! The Plainville Public Library and the Plainville Historical Commission are working together with the SAILS Library Network to scan and document personal photographs of Plainville people and places. Bring up to 10 photos to the Plainville Public Library on October 24 between 4 and 7pm. We scan them while you tell us as much as you can about the pictures and give us permission to post them in the SAILS Digital History Collection for all to see.

The first few sentences of your blog seem really tragic. I do not get the reason behind the burning of the other pictures and old paperworks. I am the type of person who cherishes memories especially photos. Hence, I think that what they did is inappropriate. However, I like the last part wherein they encouraged people to bring up to 10 photos to the Plainville Public Library. Comments are closed.
