The family of former Administrative Assistant to the Plainville Board of Selectman, Dru Proctor, and her partner Arthur McLaughlin has made a generous donation to the Plainville Public Library to honor Dru and her love of reading and libraries. The gift of two waiting benches placed just in front of our circulation desk is just what the library wished for to complement the new paint color and have a resting place for those browsing our new titles or a place for children to sit while their parents check out. The family also wanted to honor the Plainville Fire Department, Plainville Police Department and Town Hall employees with a gift of books in their honor. The library has chosen to split that gift between books for children and adults. The children’s books are from the most popular authors at our library in picture books, easy readers and graphic novels. The adult books chosen in audio, large print and regular print are in Dru’s favorite genre, mystery, and are selections from Library Journal’s best mysteries of 2019 as well as those Plainville residents are waiting for. The Plainville Public Library thanks The McLaughlin family for their thoughtful donation.
