Reading and literacy is for everyone in the family, even pre-readers!  Reading to babies, infants, and toddlers positively affects child development, readying them for a lifetime love of learning.

How it works:
  • Bring your child/children to the Library to register and receive an Early Literacy activity sheet.  These are simple things you can do throughout the summer such as:
  • Share a bedtime story
  • Sing a song
  • Build with blocks
  • Make a simple recipe together and more!
  • When at least 20 (out of 25) of the activities are done, return to the Library to pick out a prize from the toy box to enjoy with your little one.
  • get weekly entries for prizes too.

***   Voyagers   ***

This Program is for ages 5 and up.
The Read and Bead Program is BACK!

How it works:
  • Everyone gets a chain and brag tag and a Reading log Sheet
  • Track your reading time on your Sheet.1 square = 15 minutes
  • Every time you come to the library show us your reading and you earn beads for your chain. The more you read the more you earn!
  •  Do the math and trade up to get special beads as the summer goes on!

Creations are due back to the library by Friday, July 12th. Each entry will earn a raffle ticket to win a prize bag full of family games!

Every time you come to the library bring your Summer Reading Sheet or Activity Sheet and for every block you fill in or for every literacy activity you complete we are going to bo measuring out STRING - let's see if we can make it to the moon this summer with our reading activities.
