You Can Count on Mother Goose

A new program bringing together picture books and math concepts for ages 3-7 with a parent or caregiver, based on the Mother Goose Asks Why model. We started with a 4 week program - but we will now offer this program on the opposite month of Mother Goose Asks Why.

Next one:  Monday February 14 at 4pm : Counting with One Monkey too Many

What is Mother Goose Asks Why?

Developed by the Vermont Center for the Book and funded with the National Science Foundation,  the project provides a series of hands-on sessions led by a librarian who introduces parents and caregivers to eight great picture books for children ages 3 to 7 along with related science activities.

Mother Goose Asks "Why?" is a literacy project that empowers parents to share great children's books and related science activities with their children. The conversations and investigations that result increase positive interactions between parent and child while incorporating the process skills of science and enhancing language development.

This program is supported with a federal grant from the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners. For more information on the program or books used, please go to the Vermont Center for the Book Web Site
